Food Review #1 Lat28 Dunedin FL

It’s Friday night and it’s been a long week and I’m in the mood to dine in.  I fix myself an extra wet martini and decide to order delivery and its pizza time.  My selection is Lat28 located off of Bayshore Blvd., Dunedin Fl.  I order a 10″ pie with pepperoni, onions, green peppers, and black olives, with an order of garlic knots and chicken wings.  Delicious! Boy, not sure if it’s in the water but the pizza and the knots are the best I’ve had in a long while.  Last time I had good pizza pie was near Greenwich Village NYC. When I called to place my delivery order, I was greeted by a young fellow whom sounded under the influence of cannabis because I had to repeat the order often including my credit card info and he sounded like he belongs in the movie Fast Time At Ridgemont High.  Don’t let that discourage you from checking out Lat28 it was kind of entertaining.  My delivery was prompt and I was fully satisfied with …

Where am I…CBGB’s?!

On Saturday May 21st 2016 the Dunedin Brewery hosted a tribute to The Ramones, an American punk rock band formed in Queens NY in the 70’s. This was the brewery’s 12th annual celebration and it had quite the turnout. The event began at 8 PM and the crowd was already forming both indoors and outdoors. A mixture of millennials, Gen X’ers and Boomers. The night was filled with great energy, sound and nostalgia.  Wearing their own concert T’s from seeing the Ramon’s in concerts, the Baby Boomers shared their stories and what they could remember from visiting CBGB’s in its heyday. To the millennials, most didn’t notice how much influence the Romans had. Yet, some were surprised to hear how some of the songs they heard that night were originally played by the Ramon’s. Such as “I Wanna Be Sedated” and “Hey Ho, Lets Go” which is found in most stadiums cheering on the home team.  PUNK was the night! The bands were playing their tributes impressively and band T-shirts selling for as low as …

A View From The Top

Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest is a bar located on the 10th floor of Pier House 60 Hotel in our neighboring city, Clearwater Beach.  Great spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset but you don’t want to go there hungry.  They have small bites which are good but not considered a meal.  That doesn’t stop the locals nor the tourist from hanging out, having cocktails and socializing while catching this great view of the strip.  Definately a to-do! So make sure you put it on your list while visiting. Pier House 60 Hotel 101 Coronado Dr, Clearwater, FL 33767 PH: 855-859-2952
