Juneteenth in Dunedin: A Day of Recognition, Restoration, and Celebration

The scent of steamed and boiled seafood filled the air. Eli’s Barbecue added its own smoky note. Children laughed and played. Music drifted across Pioneer Park. Under a clear sky, a cool breeze kept everyone comfortable as the City of Dunedin came together on a warm June evening to celebrate Juneteenth—a day of recognition, restoration, and celebration. It was a day set apart. A day to remember. A day to lift every voice. Food Review #1 Lat28 Dunedin FL

It’s Friday night and it’s been a long week and I’m in the mood to dine in.  I fix myself an extra wet martini and decide to order delivery and its pizza time.  My selection is Lat28 located off of Bayshore Blvd., Dunedin Fl.  I order a 10″ pie with pepperoni, onions, green peppers, and black olives, with an order of garlic knots and chicken wings.  Delicious! Boy, not sure if it’s in the water but the pizza and the knots are the best I’ve had in a long while.  Last time I had good pizza pie was near Greenwich Village NYC. When I called to place my delivery order, I was greeted by a young fellow whom sounded under the influence of cannabis because I had to repeat the order often including my credit card info and he sounded like he belongs in the movie Fast Time At Ridgemont High.  Don’t let that discourage you from checking out Lat28 it was kind of entertaining.  My delivery was prompt and I was fully satisfied with …

Diverse and Proud

My heart is heavy from Saturday nights shooting at Pulse in Orlando.  We here in Dunedin are a diverse community and we cherish our small community which includes a large gay population and it breaks my heart to imagine this could have happened at our club BLUR.  BLUR unites everyone!  Gay, straight, male, female, old, young, locals or tourist all are welcomed at BLUR. My deepest condolences to the families that lost their loved ones and I hope we don’t see this hate anymore.
