Have you ever felt like someone was watching? During my lunch break I ventured out for some fresh air and take-out and I suddenly stumbled upon this majestic grand oak tree…
Love the artwork but of course there are no initials on it. The street artist is a mystery. This tree almost feels as if it will begin to tell you his stories of all who come across its way.

A View From The Top
Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest is a bar located on the 10th floor of Pier House 60 Hotel in our neighboring city, Clearwater Beach. Great spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset but you don’t want to go there hungry. They have small bites which are good but not considered a meal. That doesn’t stop the locals nor the tourist from hanging out, having cocktails and socializing while catching this great view of the strip. Definately a to-do! So make sure you put it on your list while visiting.

Vintage Faire – Shabby Chic
Vintage shopping anyone?! The Vintage Faire is such a sweet little vintage store where you’ll find shabby chic furnishings and lovely jewelry and accessories and the prices are reasonable. I picked up a few pins for a lapel or to hold your scarf in place made from the 1950’s as well as some earrings for under 20$.
Located just a couple of blocks down from the main strip, set back just off the Pinellas Trail you’ll find this cool little vintage store. Only open on Saturdays from 10-3 or by appointment. This is definitely a spot to check out the prices are awesome.

Orange Graffiti
Several years ago, shortly after the economy took a nose dive, graffiti of citrus were mysteriously popping up on buildings in the downtown Dunedin area. For a while it remained a mystery. The citrus fruit were beautifully created on walls, doors and some other objects.

Most residents enjoyed stumbling across one. No one knew who was behind or to why the kooky artist chose the orange. After a while it became kind of a running joke on who would discover the culprit. The orange graffiti became so popular that merchants and some homeowners displayed notes on their walls saying “Hey paint orange here!”
Surveillance cameras at one of the downtown restaurants captured two people in the act at 5:30 A.M. The tape was turned over to the local authorities. After the local Sheriff department began asking questions is when the two local artists came forward and confessed to painting the artwork.
Steven Spathelf, a local muralist, and Marsha Goins are the artists behind the orange graffiti. When asked why they chose to randomly paint the orange in various places their response was that they wanted to bring attention to public art and help promote area commerce. And why the orange? Because Dunedin has extensive history with the citrus fruit.
“Not all businesses were targeted” said Spathelf “anyone with a smooth wall got one”. Now “Orange Graffiti” has become a Dunedin icon.
No charges were brought against Steven Spathelf nor to Marsha Goins.
